On the evening of October 9, 1963, 260 million cubic meters of rock slid down from the top of Mount Toc in northern Italy, near Venice, and fell into the reservoir of the Vajont Dam, creating a tsunami-like wave of at least 50 million cubic meters. Since 2015, Daan Zuijderwijk has visited this area multiple times to explore the changes in its landscape, geology, and human development. The silhouettes of trees growing at an angle are outlined by white light, revealing vitality in the darkness of the night.
